Since being selected by Aerowaves Twenty in 2019 as one of the most promising emerging dance companies in Europe, KOR’SIA has toured extensively across Europe and beyond, presenting its creations at leading international theatres and festivals, including Théâtre National de la Danse Chaillot (Paris), Mercat de les Flors (Barcelona), Pavillon Noir – Ballet Preljocaj (Aix-en-Provence), Suzanne Dellal Centre (Tel Aviv), Romaeuropa Festival, Bolzano Danza, Operaestate Festival Veneto, Gender Bender Festival (Bologna), Madrid en Danza, Danza València, Dantzaldia Festival, Les Synodales, Tanzplattform Bern, Lucky Trimmer (Berlin), Birmingham International Dance Festival, Opéra National de Bordeaux, Opéra National du Rhin, Staatstheater Darmstadt, Prisma Festival (Panama), and numerous other international venues.

Alongside its stage productions, KOR’SIA has developed a significant body of site-specific creations commissioned by major cultural institutions, including the Museo Nacional del Prado (Madrid), the Museum of Science and the Cosmos(La Laguna), the Museum of Fine Arts of Bilbao, Fundación MAPFRE (Madrid), and the Spanish Pavilion at Expo Milano, among others. These projects expand the relationship between choreography, architecture, visual arts, and public space, bringing dance into dialogue with heritage and contemporary audiences.

At the core of KOR’SIA’s artistic research lies the conviction that movement is one of the most profound forms of human knowledge. For the collective, the performing arts possess a unique capacity to embody and transmit the complexity of human experience—memory, culture, ritual, identity, and social structures—allowing artistic creation to outlive the societies from which it emerges and to continually generate new meanings across time.

Through an interdisciplinary approach that combines choreography, philosophy, visual arts, music, literature, and scientific thought, KOR’SIA creates artistic experiences in which the body becomes both the medium and the place of inquiry. Each work seeks to open spaces for reflection on the individual and the collective, inviting audiences to reconsider contemporary existence through the transformative power of live performance.

Today, KOR’SIA is led by Antonio de Rosa and Mattia Russo, who serve as its Artistic Directors and Choreographers.

Kor'sia is based in Madrid and is supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports - Government of Spain, Community of Madrid, Municipality of Madrid.

Antonio de Rosa and Mattia Russo graduated in Classical and Contemporary Dance from the Ballet School of Teatro alla Scala in Milan, one of the most prestigious institutions for dance training worldwide.

After completing their studies, they developed their careers within leading European dance institutions. Antonio de Rosabegan his professional journey with Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Arena di Verona, and Teatro alla Scala, before joining the Compañía Nacional de Danza in Madrid. Mattia Russo started his career at the Choreographic Center of the Generalitat Valenciana in Spain, followed by collaborations with Introdans in the Netherlands and later the Compañía Nacional de Danza, where both artists had the opportunity to work and grow alongside some of the most influential choreographers of the international scene.

In January 2015, in Madrid, they founded the collective KOR’SIA together with researcher and dramaturg Giuseppe Dagostino, creating a platform dedicated to exploring new forms of contemporary creation through the body, movement, visual arts, and philosophical reflection.

Since 2017, Antonio de Rosa and Mattia Russo have devoted their artistic activity entirely to KOR’SIA, working as Artistic Directors, Choreographers, and Performers. Their work is characterized by a strong visual identity, a poetic approach to movement, and a continuous investigation into the relationship between humanity, society, memory, and the contemporary world.

As choreographers, they have been invited to create works for renowned international companies and institutions, including Nederlands Dans Theater (The Netherlands), GöteborgsOperans Danskompani (Sweden), Ballets de Monte-Carlo (Monaco), Opéra National du Rhin – Strasbourg (France), Opéra Grand Avignon (France), Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz (Germany), Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden (Germany), Theater Luzern and Ballet Bern (Switzerland), Konzert Theater Bern (Switzerland), , Verve – Northern School of Contemporary Dance (UK), Teatro Massimo (Italy), and the Compañía Nacional de Danza (Spain), among others.

Alongside their artistic production, Antonio and Mattia consider education and knowledge sharing an essential part of their practice. They regularly lead masterclasses, workshops, and creative laboratories focused on choreographic processes in universities, conservatories, and professional training centers worldwide, including Accademia Nazionale di Danza di Roma (Italy), Conservatorio Superior de Danza María de Ávila (Madrid, Spain), Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain), Northern School of Contemporary Dance (UK), and Tsoying Senior High School(Kaohsiung, Taiwan), among others.
