Creation for GöteborgsOperans Danskompani (Gothenburg Dance Company)

World premiere: 11 October 2025
Göteborg – GöteborgsOperan, Main Stage

Creation for 17 dancers
Running time: 42 minutes

To enrich its choreographic repertoire, GöteborgsOperans Danskompani has invited the acclaimed Spain-based duo Antonio de Rosa and Mattia Russo (Kor’sia) to create a new original work titled CROSS.

Internationally recognized for their visionary aesthetics and emotionally charged physical language, Kor’sia has established itself as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary dance today. Their creations move seamlessly between abstraction and intensity, captivating audiences across major European stages.

CROSS unfolds during a single night — a moment when everything finally changes. It is a passage from darkness to light, from consumerism to the calm of nature, from dystopia to utopia.

The work explores states of transition and intersection: between bodies, forces, beliefs, and contradictions. Through a powerful and precise choreographic language, the piece constructs a physical and symbolic landscape where tension, resistance, and transformation coexist.

“We live in an increasingly complex world, where invisible threads of economy, society, politics, and culture weave a reality that often slips from our hands. Our ability to imagine what does not yet exist — the power to create the incredible — is the spark that ignites the will to act.”
— Agnès López-Río, dramaturge

Created for the exceptional versatility and physical intelligence of GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, CROSS invites the dancers into a constant negotiation between structure and instinct, rigor and abandon. The stage becomes a site of convergence — where lines are crossed, redefined, and sometimes erased.

With this creation, Kor’sia continues its dialogue with leading European dance institutions, reaffirming its commitment to contemporary work that is both visually striking and deeply resonant.

“Everything is super stylish and makes me think of MTV videos from the 90s.”
— Dagens Nyheter

“Very cinematic.”

“Pure joy of life and the dancers become one with the music.”
